Australia-based technology and telecommunications firm, Telstra Group Limited (ASX:TLS) offers nearly 22.5 million retail mobile services and 3.4 million retail bundle and data services.
The AUD 46.56 billion market cap company recorded a 5.4% YoY jump in total income to AUD 23.2 billion in the financial year 2023 (FY23). NPAT during the reported period increased by 13.1% YoY to AUD 2.1 billion, while earnings per share grew by 16% YoY to 16.7 cents.
The yearly performance was driven by mobile business. During the reported period, earnings grew in the international, infrastructure, consumer and small business fixed line and health businesses. Moreover, the company reported progress on its T25 strategy.

Recent business update
Through an ASX update dated 6 February 2024, that company said Oliver Camplin-warner would succeed David Burns as the group executive of TLS, effective from 1 March 2024.
Presently, Olver is the head of Telstra Purple. David would leave the firm at the end of February 2024.
Outlook
In the financial year 2024 (FY24), TLS expects to report total income of AUD 22.8-24.8 billion and underlying EBITDA of AUD 8.2-8.4 billion. In FY24, the estimated capex is AUD 3.6-3.7 billion and expected free cashflow after lease payments is AUD 2.8 – 3.2 billion.
The focus is on investment and technology evolution, tapping mergers and acquisition opportunities, maintaining balance sheet and driving growth through digital infrastructure.

TLS shares closed at AUD 3.98 apiece on 12 February 2024. In the last one year, TLS’ share price has decreased by 3.16% and in the past nine months, it has dropped by almost 7.87%.
