Super Retail Group Limited (ASX:SUL) is an ASX-listed retail company that operates through segments including Supercheap Auto (SCA), rebel, BCF and Macpac. In the financial year 2024 (FY24), the company recorded 2.10% YoY increase in sales to AUD 3,882.60 million. The group sales were largely flat due to increased cost of living. During the reported period, online sales grew by 9% YoY to AUD 485 million and online sales as percentage of total sales grew from 12% in FY23 to 13% in FY24.
The period saw 3.78% YoY drop in total segment EBITDA to AUD 738.60 million and 8.71% YoY decline in profit attributable to owners to AUD 240.10 million. The store count was 759 at the end of FY24, compared to 736 at the end of FY23.
In the first 16 weeks of FY25, the company recorded 2% like-for-like sales growth and 4% increase in sales growth.
Outlook
In FY25, a one-off increase in operational expenses of AUD 8 million is expected as the company is transitioning to a new Victorian distribution centre, contributing to unallocated costs of AUD 40 million, compared to AUD 36 million in FY24.
The company plans to allocate AUD165 million in capital expenditure for enhancements of customer loyalty programs, support store development and the new distribution centre. Also, the funds will aim at strengthening omni, cyber and digital capabilities.
