Based in Calgary, Mr Micheal Dobovich assumed the role of Calima’s President from his former Country Manager’s position in March 2020 and has been a key part of the management team since 2017. He led the acquisition of the Tommy Lakes Facilities besides leading the operationalisation of Calima during the 2019 drilling campaign.

Ensuring strong HS&E and social governance, he managed the corporate aspects of the Canadian entity. He has previously worked as a senior executive with Statoil Canada and holds considerable experience in Canadian E&P.

Moreover, he has worked for multiple basins in North America for more than 20 years, with a background in indigenous relations, land, regulatory and commercial activities.

Mr Mark Freeman, Chief Financial Officer

Calima’s Chief Financial Officer, Mr Mark Freeman has an extensive experience in the fields of banking, corporate advisory and equity capital markets, with a particular emphasis on natural resources. Lately, he has assumed the role of Company Secretary, replacing Mr James Bahen.

Mr Freeman possesses a Commerce Degree and holds more than 25 years’ experience in resources industry and corporate finance. His experience comprises business development, North American gas commercialisation, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions and project development general management.

He has worked with several successful resource companies in the past, including TSV Montney Ltd, Grand Gulf Energy and Golden Gate Petroleum.

Mr Aaron Bauer, Operations Manager

Appointed as Operations Manager in March 2018, Mr Aaron Bauer holds over 15 years of experience in drilling and operations management in the Montney and other resource plays in Canada.

He has worked for many large companies in the past, including Caltex, Burlington Resources, Krang and West Valley Energy, where he served as VP Operations engaged in all aspects of business development including scenario planning and commercial modelling.

Mr Glenn Whiddon, Chairman

Mr Glenn Whiddon holds an extensive experience of about 30 years in banking, corporate advisory and equity capital markets, with a particular focus on natural resources. Backed by a significant experience in management and corporate segment, he is currently serving as the Director of multiple Australian and international listed entities in resources sector.

Moreover, he has formerly worked as Executive Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of a European O&G exploration company, Grove Energy Limited. He has also worked for Bank of New York and various ASX-listed companies.

Mr Alan Stein, Non-Executive Director

Mr Alan Stein is a geologist possessing about 30 years of experience in E&P. He was a founding partner of London & Perth-based geoscience consultancy IKODA Limited while a founding MD of Ophir Energy plc and Fusion Oil & Gas plc.

Offshore Equatorial Guinea and Tanzania, Ophir was engaged in multiple discoveries, uncovering over 18 Tcf of gas.

Mr Stein has done a tremendous job in acquiring and building on the Calima Land position and the successful three-well drilling program in Q1 2019.

Mr Neil Hackett, Non-Executive Director

Mr Neil Hackett possesses a significant experience of more than 30 years in accounting and finance segment. Moreover, his experience includes corporate advisory with diversified industrials, financial services and mining entities.

He is currently serving as Non-Executive Chairman of ASX-listed Ardiden Limited (ADV) and has formerly worked as Non-Executive Director of Modun Resources Ltd (MOU) and African Chrome Fields Ltd (ACF). Besides, he has held the Company Secretary position at various other companies, including Ampella Mining Ltd, Sundance Resources Limited (ASX:SDL) and ThinkSmart Ltd.

Mr Brett Lawrence, Non-Executive Director

Mr Brett Lawrence possesses over 15 years of experience in international E&P and holds Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, along with Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mining) and Commerce.

Additionally, he has executive experience in public companies and PE investing while operational experience across drilling, reservoir engineering and development. He has previously worked with Apache Energy for more than eight years, performing roles in reservoir engineering, commercial management, drilling engineering and project development.

Moreover, he has held senior roles in financial, corporate and commercial arenas at multiple ASX-listed entities.
