Highlights

  • Surefire Resources has identified more than 24km of prospective gold strike at the Yidby Gold Project following a comprehensive geological review.
  • The review outlined multiple high-priority, largely untested exploration targets across approximately 17km of favourable geology.
  • Historical drilling confirmed gold mineralisation remains open along strike and at depth.
  • Several new target areas, including Yidby Hill, Cashens Corridor, Great Northern and Six Mile Well, have been identified.
  • The company plans to commence targeted drilling and sampling in Q3 after completing prospect-scale assessments and target ranking.

Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN) has outlined multiple gold targets across its Yidby Gold Project in Western Australia after completing a comprehensive review integrating historical geophysical, geochemical, drilling and mapping datasets. The assessment has enhanced the company's understanding of the project's gold potential and identified numerous priority exploration areas extending well beyond previously drilled zones.

Located approximately 280 kilometres northeast of Perth, the Yidby Gold Project covers around 114 square kilometres and hosts three prospects where encouraging gold mineralisation has been reported.

Geological Review Reveals Multiple High-Priority Gold Targets

The analysis indicates more than 24 kilometres of prospective strike length together with approximately 17 square kilometres of favourable yet largely untested geological settings.

Notably, among the key areas, the Yidby Corridor extends for more than five kilometres, although only around two kilometres have been drill tested to date. Historical drilling continues to demonstrate broad zones of gold mineralisation, including intersections such as-

The review also confirmed that mineralisation remains open to both the north and south, as well as at depth.

Untested Corridors Expand Exploration Pipeline

Beyond the main Yidby Corridor, the review identified several additional exploration opportunities. The Yidby Hill area represents an extension of the mineralised trend into layered gabbro and dolerite rocks, with more than four kilometres of prospective strike receiving only limited historical exploration.

The Cashens Corridor also emerged as a significant target. Historic drilling at Cashens Find returned intercepts including 8m @ 2.01 g/t Au from 19m, while the nearby Loot prospect produced surface float samples grading up to 13.19 grams per tonne gold.

Other priority targets include Great Northern, which offers around three kilometres of prospective strike in an untested fold structure, and Six Mile Well, where an unconformable contact between mafic-ultramafic rocks and sedimentary units, with strike length of potentially 8km has been recognised. At Delaney's Well, previous drilling intersected 8m @ 4.69 g/t Au from 22m, including more than 17 square kilometres of untested stratigraphy.

Next Phase Focuses on Target Prioritisation and Drilling

Following completion of the regional review, the company plans to advance prospect-scale assessments designed to rank the identified targets before commencing focused drilling and sampling during the third quarter. Management noted that integrating geology, geophysics and geochemistry has significantly improved its understanding of mineralisation controls throughout the project area.

As exploration progresses, future drilling will seek to test these newly prioritised targets and determine whether the expanded geological interpretation can translate into additional gold discoveries across the wider Yidby Gold Project.

SRN shares traded at AUD 0.022 per share on 20 July 2026.
