Summary
- Vaccine roll-out across the world facing a lot of challenges.
- Different countries facing vaccine shortage.
- AstraZeneca’s side effects caused huge concerns in the roll-out pace.
Vaccine roll-out across the world has witnessed different stages of challenges. While the coronavirus pandemic has been wreaking havoc for over a year, scientists are trying to find a feasible solution for vaccinating people successfully. While several brands have come up with their own vaccines, and the roll-out plans for the same are pretty much on globally as we speak, there is no denying the fact that there are several challenges being faced in the same direction by different countries.

In Australia, pace of vaccination has not been as per the target. While people in most other countries are also receiving the vaccine as and when it is available for them, Australia had set out a strong plan of action, which it has not been fully able to follow. Right from a delay in ordering vaccines to being able to register people for the same at a slow pace, the government seemed to be running behind schedule. While it is relying on different vaccine trials and most of them didn’t come positive, the country has pinned its hopes on AstraZeneca alone.
While GPs have been flooded with requests for vaccines, there is not a proper track and trace system to ensure that vaccines are regulated in terms of administration. Also, in the month of March when AstraZeneca started displaying the blood clotting issue in several patients, things became a little more complicated. People didn’t know whether it was the right thing to get the vaccine anyway or wait for a better alternative.
India is suffering greatly by coronavirus right now. While the entire world is aggressively helping India in terms of infrastructure and funds so that people find the correct treatment, hospital beds, and so on, vaccine administration challenges are being faced every day. Shortage of vaccines is the biggest problem there, slots for the vaccination are booked within seconds and the next ones open after long intervals, making it stressful for a commoner.

New Zealand, while secured orders for vaccines long ago, is still in the process of vaccinating frontliners so that its health and safety, as well as that of others are kept safe. Roll-out for the general public is to start from June, and hopefully things will be managed fairly well, just as the disease was managed by the country in the first place.
