Highlights

  • Coach has partnered with “fake art” player Shxpir to drop a new set of NFT collection
  • The fashion brand had dropped digital assets linked to a game in December last year
  • Keanu Reeves is being reported as a supporting artist to enter the new world of Web 3.0

The space comprising cryptos and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) is subdued right now. Existing assets like Bitcoin and Ether, and new launches in the NFT space are not attracting investors as they did in the past. Beeple’s artwork and that of Pak’s selling for millions of dollars is an old story now.

In spite of all this, new NFTs are being released in quick succession. If it was Madonna and Beeple last month who collaborated for an NFT collection, tennis star Coco Gauff revealed her digital assets this month. It is also being reported that actor Keanu Reeves is also contemplating entering the world of the metaverse and digital collectibles.

Before we know what Reeves has reportedly said, let’s explore a new NFT drop by fashion brand, Coach.

Coach NFT drop

It was first reported in December last year that Coach, well known for its handbags and luggage, is stepping into NFTs. It was the brand’s 80th anniversary last year. To commemorate this, Coach launched 80 NFTs. The digital asset featured animals from a digital game, Snow City.

Now, Coach has announced another NFT drop, seemingly inviting enthusiasts who had missed the Snow City round. The new collection is in collaboration with Shxpir, which claims to make “fake art”. It is being said that the collection consists of 3D designs of Coach’s handbag model, Madison Satchel.

Ahead of launching this new NFT drop, Coach also invited holders of Snow City batch NFTs to claim their Rogue bag, which is available on Coach’s official website.

Where is Coach NFT available?

Coach does not seem to have partnered with any marketplace yet for the new drop. It is inviting enthusiasts on its official page to participate in the “Coach x Shxpir” drop.

Quite often, NFTs, once sold in the initial sale, trade on marketplaces like OpenSea. Madonna chose services of NFT minting platform SuperRare for her launch in June. Where will Coach NFTs trade in the future, if they ever do, is a wait-and-watch scene.

Keanu Reeves NFT

Another big news at the moment is Keanu Reeves and partner Alexandra Grant’s supposed entry into the digital assets space. The couple is said to be supporting The Futureverse Foundation, which is working towards connecting artists with the new tech of the metaverse and Web 3.0.

For now, there is no news about Keanu Reeves launching any NFT.

Bottom line

NFTs are not drawing the same interest as last year. New launches are happening, with Coach’s latest NFT drop. Separately, actor Keanu Reeves has reportedly spoken about helping artists enter the digital art space.
