This is no news that the UK has been one of the worst-hit countries due to the pandemic, Brexit and other related economic factors resulting in many people are struggling to find well-paying jobs. However, Brexit, pandemic, innovation, and climate change have totally changed the UK’s jobs market, a recent LinkedIn research report highlighted.

Brexit has created a long-term shortage of staff in some sectors of the UK, mainly in the low-skill jobs, which has created a war for talent.

The report said that the UK’s job market is seeing a shift in new job opportunities to adapt to the pandemic, Brexit, and broader economic factors. As per the trends, men are more likely to be hired for new job opportunities, which may create a gender imbalance.

  1. Software Engineer

As the world is increasingly moving online, the demand for software engineers is increasing rapidly. Those with experience in web designing, coding, web development, and app development for future improvement, you can choose to work as a software engineer. The average base salary of a software engineer is £55,000, and the range is from £21,000 to £153,000 per year.

The Chief Executives and Senior Officials are the highest-ranking individuals within an organization, with the highest average salary of £97,000. Their salaries range between £50,000 and £250,000 per year. Senior managers focus on the critical areas of the organizations, such as operations, finance, customer services and marketing and directly report to the Chief Executive.

  1. Medical Practitioners

Since the last two years, the demand of medical staffs is rising in the UK due to the pandemic. There is a widening gap between the demand and supply of the medical staff making it one of the highest paying jobs. Medical practitioner is a broad term that includes jobs such as general practitioner, doctors, nurses, anesthetists, among others. So, the salary depends on the level and role. The average base salary of doctor, physician or general practitioner is £75,855, ranging from £39,500 to £114,003 per year, and the salary may exceed £200,000 with increased experience.

Analysts are of different types such as business analyst, data analyst, criminal intelligence analysts, and financial analysts. All of them are in high demand in the UK at present. The salary of an analyst ranges from £30,000 to £78,000. In London, the financial analyst may earn up to £100,000. The average salary of equity research analyst is £62,900 per year.

In the UK, Brexit has created a shortage of delivery driver staff in some sectors of the UK, affecting many businesses and supply chain. The job of a delivery driver is to deliver orders to scheduled consumers. The average base salary of delivery drivers is £20,055.

Cyber security specialist is another in-demand job in the UK at present. They are play a vital role in helping government organizations and private companies to keep their information safe from hackers. Their average base salary is £25,000.
