Immuron Limited (ASX:IMC) (NASDAQ:IMRN) has continued to expand its presence in the digestive health market through growing sales, commercialisation activities, and portfolio expansion initiatives. With a focus on gastrointestinal health and immune-based therapies, the company markets products targeting travellers' diarrhoea and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
As digestive health concerns continue affecting millions globally, Immuron’s activities remain centred on developing and distributing orally delivered products designed to address gastrointestinal conditions and related symptoms.
Focus on Digestive Health
Immuron is an Australian biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercialising orally delivered targeted polyclonal antibodies for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases and gastrointestinal conditions. The company’s portfolio includes products aimed at digestive health protection and symptom management.
One of Immuron’s key commercial products is Travelan®, an orally administered passive immunotherapy developed to reduce the likelihood of contracting travellers’ diarrhoea. The digestive tract disorder is commonly linked to exposure to pathogenic bacteria and bacterial toxins encountered during travel.
Travelan® contains highly purified hyperimmune bovine antibodies that bind to diarrhoea-causing bacteria when taken with meals. The product is designed to help prevent bacterial colonisation associated with travellers’ diarrhoea.
The product is available across several markets under different classifications. In Australia, Travelan® is listed on the Australian Register for Therapeutic Goods and is indicated to reduce the risk of travellers’ diarrhoea and minor gastrointestinal disorders. In Canada, it is licensed as a natural health product, while in the United States, it is sold as a dietary supplement for digestive tract protection.
ProIBS® Expands Digestive Health Portfolio

Alongside Travelan®, Immuron distributes ProIBS® in Australia under an exclusive agreement with Calmino group AB. The product forms part of the company’s broader digestive health portfolio targeting gastrointestinal conditions.

In Australia, ProIBS® is a Listed Medicine. The product contains AVH200® with gel-forming components designed to support the intestinal mucosal barrier.
IBS is a common digestive condition associated with symptoms linked to diet, stress, lifestyle habits, and mood. According to Immuron, around three out of every ten people are affected by IBS, with females more likely to experience the condition.
Calmino group AB conducted a usability study involving 1,003 users of ProIBS®. According to the study results, 94% of users found the product helpful, while 91% reported improvements in daily life and 98% stated they would recommend the product to others.
The broader market opportunity remains significant. According to market data referenced by Immuron, the digestive and intestinal remedies market in Australia is estimated to generate revenue of approximately AU$221.14 million in 2025.
