- Planned September quarter activities include drilling, geological modelling and further target generation across key assets.
Catalina Resources Limited (ASX:CTN) continued to expand its exploration activities during the quarter ended 30 June 2026, with work spanning gold, copper and lithium projects across Western Australia. The period was marked by the completion of several strategic acquisitions, ongoing geological reviews and exploration programs designed to progress multiple assets towards future drilling and resource definition.
The company's activities focused on broadening its project portfolio while advancing exploration across existing assets through drilling, geophysical interpretation, and historical data reviews.
Mid-West Gold Portfolio Expansion Broadens Exploration Footprint
A key milestone during the quarter was the completion of acquisition of a strategic exploration portfolio including the Kirkalocka, Pithara, Tallering, Peak Hill, Deflector North, Boodanoo, Warriedar and Lake Johnston projects. The acquisition significantly expanded the company's landholding across Western Australia and increased exposure to several established gold provinces.
Following completion of the transaction, Catalina initiated comprehensive technical reviews across the newly acquired assets. Historical exploration datasets were assessed and confirmed several high-priority exploration targets.
Notably, at the Kirkalocka project, the review of historical datasets confirmed historical gold mineralisation zones associated with targets adjacent to the Kirkalocka Gold Mine and processing facility.
In the September 2026 quarter, the company plans to advance its Mid-West Gold Portfolio systematically and key activities will include-
- Launching maiden RC drilling at the Pithara Project.
- Progressing drilling activities at Kirkalocka following the completion of heritage surveys and land access approvals.
- Continuing interpretation of soil geochemistry results and ongoing geological assessment across Tallering, Peak Hill, Deflector North, Warriedar, and Boodanoo to refine exploration targets and prioritise future exploration activities.
Central Yilgarn Program Continues to Define Gold Opportunities
Catalina also advanced its Central Yilgarn exploration activities during the quarter by integrating the Chicken Little, Snowflake, T8 and Megatron prospects into the newly established Palisade Gold Project.
The consolidated project now represents a continuous mineralised corridor extending approximately 12 to 14 kilometres. A detailed review of geological and drilling data has supported the definition of a conceptual Exploration Target ranging from approximately 60,000 ounces to 330,000 ounces of gold across multiple deposits. The company noted that the Exploration Target is conceptual in nature and there has not yet been sufficient exploration to estimate a Mineral Resource.
Across the Evanston and Yerilgee projects, all assays highlighted consistent gold mineralisation across multiple prospects. At Megatron, the company noted potential to expand with significant untested strike and historical result include 9m @ 2.6 g/t Au from 23m, including 3m @ 7.1 g/t Au from 26m.
Copper and Multi-Commodity Projects Deliver Exploration Progress
Beyond its gold assets, the company continued advancing the Breakaway Dam Copper and Lithium Project following its acquisition during the quarter.
The company's maiden drilling campaign successfully expanded the interpreted copper mineralised strike from approximately 700 metres to around 1.2 kilometres while confirming additional copper mineralisation. Significant intercepts include-
- 9m (ETW) @ 2.17% Cu from 198m (BDCRC26016)
- 9m (ETW) @ 0.57% Cu from 204m (BDCRC26014)
- 8m (ETW) @ 0.31% Cu from 124m (BDCRC26016)
Drilling intersected mineralisation across multiple depths and positions. Furthermore, across all holes, substantial geophysical responses were recorded, providing vectors for follow up drilling and priority targets were identified for next phase drilling.
At the Beasley Creek Project, recent soil and rock chip sampling has expanded the interpreted mineralised footprint and refined priority drill targets. The program extended gold, copper and zinc soil anomalies while strengthening interpretations of a coherent AuAgCu PbZn mineralised system.
Results also highlight clear metal zonation, with Flamingo emerged as a broad copper-dominant system and Golden Hand as a higher-grade polymetallic centre. Rock chip assays returned copper values of up to 896 ppm, confirming widespread copper mineralisation across the project.
During the quarter, the company also secured up to AUD 180,000 in Exploration Incentive Scheme co-funded drilling support from the Western Australian Government to assist future drilling activities.
Activities Planned across Breakaway Dam and Beasley Creek Project
Looking ahead, Catalina intends to maintain exploration momentum across its expanding portfolio during the September 2026 quarter.
At Breakaway Dam, the company plans to commence the next phase of RC drilling targeting priority DHEM conductors and extensions of known copper mineralisation. The company will also advance geological modelling, assess the project's lithium potential, and integrate new and historical data to refine exploration targets across both its copper and lithium prospects.
At Beasley Creek, the company plans to complete interpretation of recent soil geochemistry and rock chip results, integrate geological datasets to refine drill targets at the Flamingo and Golden Hand prospects, progress heritage approvals, and finalise planning for the EIS co-funded drilling program.
Overall, the June 2026 quarter reflected Catalina Resources' continued emphasis on portfolio expansion and systematic exploration across multiple commodities. With drilling programs, target generation and geological modelling scheduled across several projects, the company is progressing exploration activities designed to further evaluate the potential of its Western Australian asset base.
