The latest AAII Sentiment Survey revealed that both optimism and pessimism are on a rise. The percentage of individual investors calling their 6-month outlook for stocks as neutral is at a 10-week low. As per the survey:
- Bullish sentiment rose by 3.7 percentage points to 30.8%
- Neutral sentiment fell 6.4 percentage points to 23.8%
- Bearish sentiment rebounded by 2.7 percentage points to 45.4%
The prevailing pessimism rates represent fears about the coronavirus pandemic and the economy. Nevertheless, many AAII leaders have been motivated by the stock market turnaround from its lows in March.
