The demand for renewable energy sources and use is on a rise worldwide. Tritium Holdings Pty Ltd (Tritium), an electric vehicle fast charging facilitator is moving parallel with this trend. Tritium has recently unveiled a world-class EV charger testing facility in its town of origin Brisbane, Queensland.
Why is Tritium in news for the EV charger facility?
- Tritium’s new facility will mean more jobs in more industries in Queensland. The facility will fast-pace Tritium’s ability to test and deploy chargers and increase market. Queensland alongside aims to become home to more such facilities. Tritium has successfully contributed to Queensland’s economic recovery and is reflective of the state’s strength in EV tech.
- As a result, State’s Minister for Transport and Main Roads has committed to establish another 18 charging stations across Queensland Super Highway. The area covered will extend from Mount Isa in the West to Goondiwindi in the South. It will be done using Tritium’s new 75kW chargers, and is expected to be completed by 2022 end.
- The EVCS has asked Tritium to inflate the EV charging network alongside the US West Coast. EVCS will buy more than 400 Tritium fast-chargers to add to its over 100 Tritium charger installation.

- Founded in 2001, Tritium, is a Brisbane-based developer and manufacturer of direct current (DC) fast chargers for electric vehicles.
- The company has twenty-year long history in advanced power electronics and EVs. It had started as a developer of technology for solar race cars and now has exposure to EV batteries, Chargers and other battery management systems.
- Tritium has over 2.7 million high-power charging sessions spread across 41 countries, and over 340 employees committed to accelerate EV adoption.
Bottom line-
