Toyota unveils its newest hybrid Highlander

Toyota has launched its fuel-efficient, environment-friendly new vehicle, 'Toyota Highlander', for the emission-conscious New Zealanders.

Toyota NZ General Manager Steve Prangnell expressed that Hybrids would pave the way for a cleaner and greener future. The Company aims to do its bit by making its businesses more sustainable, thereby offering the customers fuel-efficient options along with cost savings.

Now, one in every three of Toyota's new vehicle sales comprises hybrid cars.

Stunning features

The new Highlander- an owner’s pride, is Toyota’s most powerful 7-seater SUV with 2,000kg braked towing capacity and combined fuel consumption of just 5.6L/100km.

With a revised version of the 2.5l petrol engine used in RAV4, this new hybrid car is stylish and is designed with the state-of-the-art technology with improved safety.

Boasting of slim LED lights and stunning exteriors, the premium SUV offers a larger cabin for passengers, sitting in the third row, as well as enhanced luggage space.

Equipped with never-seen-before features like the panoramic sunroof and the finest 11-speaker JBL sound system, Toyota Highlander offers an exciting drive, perfect for family adventure trips.

The 2021 Highlander comes in 7 stunning colours- celestial silver, deep blue sea, crystal pearl, ruby, glacial blue, graphite, and eclipse.

Safety first

The vehicle is equipped with a Toyota Safety Sense suite, comprising adaptive cruise control with curve speed reduction, pre-collision system, along with an array of modern safety features.

It is yet to receive an official ANCAP safety rating.

Variants on display

As of now, 5 variants of the Highlander are available - 3 hybrid and 2 petrol options - starting from GXL to Limited ZR.

The price starts from NZ$60,990 and goes up to NZ$74,990, depending on the model chosen.

Highlander’s competitors

As far as the rivals go, Toyota Highlander 2021 contests with the likes of Volkswagen Passat, Skoda Superb iV, BMW 3 series, Volvo XC90, and 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid, etc.
