The Germany-based Volkswagen (VW) Group is one of the leading manufacturers of automobiles and commercial vehicles across the globe. It is renowned for its iconic Beetle and other popular models, including Jetta, Golf, and Passat, etc.
It has launched its first performance-focused electric vehicle ID 4 GTX, which is all set to hit the road on 28 April 2021.
It is noted that in Europe, the VW makes use of different badges like GTI for gasoline, GTD for diesel, and GTE for its plug-in hybrid models.
However, the new GTX branding on ID 4 is used to indicate a higher performance model of pure electric cars.

Key Specifications Of Volkswagen EV – ID.4
The new car is equipped with a dual motor and an all-wheel-drive powertrain, which produces nearly 225kW. It is expected that a bigger battery pack of about 77kWh will be attached.
Moreover, it is anticipated that the new model will don a sporty look with large wheels, a bigger front splitter, side skirts, plus a rear spoiler. It will also comprise bucket seats and the latest steering wheel.

The car will boast of a shorter ride height than the normal ID.4 and numerous chassis changes have been made to augment the car’s performance and handling.
It is also reported that ID. 4 GTX will have an integrated output of 302 horsepower, plus 339 pound-feet of torque.

VW’s marketing head, Klaus Zellmer, stated that the Company had decided to use the GTX badge for future car models, accentuating ID performance and placing them along with the existing GTI, GTD, and GTE models. He further added that the initials GT symbolises the gratification derived from driving and X will enhance the bridge towards future mobility.
The new ID.4 GTX model is both sustainable as well as sporty and is sure to capture the minds of the vehicle enthusiasts.

Successful Launch Of The First ID 4 In Germany
Zellmer stated that the first customers were in proud possession of their fully electric ID.4 model on 19 April 2021. The Company received 23,500 orders of the fully electric SUV throughout the European region. VW group aims to deliver about 150,000 cars globally in 2021. Seeing this success, the Company is planning to introduce a minimum of one new electric model every year.

It is expected that this ID 4 GTX will pave the way for the ID. 5 model (coupe-SUV), a new version of the ID. 4 model. And, eventually, that car will also gain a GTX version in the future.
