Fujitsu has announced that it has won the iSAFE contract with the South Australian Department for Correctional Services (DSC). Under the contract, Fujitsu will refresh some of its software systems.
As per the agreement, the legacy offender system of DCS, which has been in place for over three-decades, will be replaced with a new system – iSAFE. Fujitsu will partner with Syscon Justice Systems, a SaaS provider, for the deal.
iSAFE Integrated Offender Management System contract is a multi-year agreement under which Fujitsu will manage the overhaul of the state’s legacy offender IT management system. The system will help DCS locate the reason for the complexities in the sector and the roll-out of the new iSAFE system, estimated to be operational by 2023. The new system is expected to improve cyber security, enhance case management, better decision making, access to crucial information in real-time, and remove paper-based processes

The announcement is a follow-up of the $15 million commitment to the overhaul by the state government to make information accessible in real-time to all relevant agencies.
