NCM, EVN, NST: How are these ASX-listed gold stocks faring?

The S&P/ASX 200 Materials sector (ASX:XMJ) was spotted trading 1.897% lower at 18059.300 at 3:45 PM AEST on the ASX today (9 May). 

In this article, we have discussed the share price performance of three major gold stocks- Newcrest Mining Limited (ASX:NCM), Evolution Mining Limited (ASX:EVN), and Northern Star Resources Ltd (ASX:NST).  

We have observed that all the gold stocks were trading in red, probably due to the sectoral influence today. 

Newcrest Mining Limited (ASX:NCM) 

The shares of Newcrest Mining Limited (ASX:NCM) were spotted trading 1.648% lower at AU$23.870 per share at 3:40 PM AEST on the ASX today (9 June). More than 1.2 million shares of Newcrest mining were traded till now in today’s trading session on the ASX. 

The share price of Newcrest has fallen over 13% on the ASX over the past 12 months. On the other hand, Newcrest’s year-to-date share price also fell over 2% (as of 2:18 PM AEST on the ASX today, 9 June).

Evolution Mining Limited (ASX:EVN)

The shares of Evolution Mining Limited (ASX:EVN) were spotted trading 1775% lower at AU$3.595 per share at 3:40 PM AEST on the ASX today (9 June). Evolution Mining garnered investors’ attention today as over 3.5 million shares of the company were traded so far in today’s trading session on the ASX. 

On 7 June 2022, Evolution Mining signed a contract with Perenti (ASX:PRN) for all the underground development and production work at Evolution’s Cowal Underground Project in New South Wales.

The share price of Evolution Mining has fallen over 27% on the ASX over the past 12 months. On the other hand, Evolution’s year-to-date share price also fell over 11% (as of 2:39 PM AEST on the ASX today, 9 June).

Northern Star Resources Ltd (ASX:NST) 

The shares of Northern Star Resources Ltd (ASX:NST) were spotted trading 2.290% lower at AU$8.53 per share at 2:57 PM AEST on the ASX today (9 June). Northern Star was heavily traded today as more than 3.4 million shares of the company were traded so far in today’s trading session on the ASX. 

The share price of Northern Star has fallen over 22% on ASX over the past 12 months. On the other hand, Northern Star’s year-to-date share price also fell over 9% (as of 2:57 PM AEST on the ASX today, 9 June).
