Highlights

  • QX Resources is set to embark upon a maiden, ~1,500m, RC drilling program at its Turner River hard rock lithium project in the last week of November.
  • Three areas will be the focus of the drilling program:
    • One of these will be the high-grade lithium area (named ‘Carbonate Hill’) located in and surrounding the very recently reported rock chip samples.
    • Two other pegmatite prospect with anomalous lithium results.
  • Further surface sampling and a geophysical survey are on the cards.

QX Resources Limited (ASX:QXR) is soon going to start maiden drilling at its wholly owned Turner River hard rock lithium project. The Company has secured a drill rig for the ~1,500m reverse circulation (RC) drilling program, which is scheduled to commence in the last week of November 2022.

This development comes in the wake of further high-grade lithium assay results received from the recent rock sampling program at the project.

The minerals exploration company has a diversified portfolio comprising lithium assets in Western Australia and gold assets in Queensland. The Company has sharpened its focus on its lithium strategy amid the growing battery minerals sector.

The Turner River project is situated 15km south of the Wodgina lithium mine in the Pilbara lithium province, Western Australia:

Maiden drilling to target three areas at Turner River

Three areas will be the focus of the drilling program. One of these will be the high-grade lithium area located in and surrounding the very recently reported rock chip samples of 1.6% Li2O, 1.1% Li2O, and 4.9% Li2O at the Carbonate Hill prospect at the project (E45/6042 & E45/6065).

This prospect spans across an area of 350 metres x 200 metres and now extends under cover.

In addition, two other pegmatites with anomalous lithium results at Turner River will be drill tested.

Technical consultants from Resource Potentials have been roped in. They will be led by Dr Jason Myers, who is well-experienced with the Pilbara lithium region. The seasoned professional will be conducting a comprehensive geophysical database review and supervise the forthcoming drill program.

The way ahead

The Company reported that its application for a Programme of Works (PoW) has been approved for the drill program, following which Topdrill has been commissioned to undertake the works.

Further surface sampling is all set to start along with a detailed geophysical survey under planning.

QXR shares traded at AU$0.060 on 10 November 2022.
