Highlights:
- At QX Resources’ Turner River hard rock lithium project, assays have confirmed high-grade lithium from a recent rock sampling program.
- This time around, the high-grade lithium samples include 1.6% and 1.1% Li2O, respectively, from the project’s ‘Carbonate Hill prospect’, a previously identified area of interest.
- The results have also highlighted a new area of interest.
- The Company says it is now expediting a maiden drill program at Turner River.
QX Resources Limited (ASX:QXR) has reported further assay results, which confirm high-grade lithium from the recent rock sampling program at its wholly owned Turner River hard rock lithium project.
Minerals exploration company QXR has a diversified portfolio comprising lithium assets in Western Australia and gold assets in Queensland.
The Turner River project is situated south of the Wodgina lithium mine in the Pilbara lithium province, Western Australia.
Results- a quick glance
The most recent results include 1.6% Li2O and 1.1% Li2O from rock-chip sampling at the previously identified area of interest, ‘Carbonate Hill prospect’, at Turner River (E45/6042 and E45/6065). In the past, sampling had confirmed up to 4.9% Li2O with the lithium-bearing mineral lepidolite.

Thanks to these latest results, this prospect spans across an area of 350m in length by 200m in width, which now extends under cover.
Coincident, elevated tin and rare earth results (strong Li-Cs-Rb-Sn response) are from interpreted pegmatites hosted within a monzogranite. In addition, the surface outcrop seems subtler than typical pegmatites in Pilbara.

A new area of interest
At Turner River, the Company has identified a new area of interest, which has similar elevated tin results and bleached zones as the Carbonate Hill prospect. This new area of interest straddles a linear feature interpreted as a potential pegmatite, although mapped as a quartz vein nearby.
The way ahead
The Company says reverse circulation drilling is in the cards focused on the Carbonate Hill prospect area as well as over two other anomalous areas across the project area.
QXR shares were trading at AU$0.058 in the early hours of 09 November 2022.
