The company's umbrella brand is NutriKane, under which the products offered are clinically proven to help with long-term chronic health conditions, highlights MediKane.
NutriKane D, a plant-based health product under the company’s belt, is a powder-based food that helps lower and maintain the blood glucose level. The product is a mixture of soluble, insoluble fibre and starch-resistant. More importantly, these fibres are not heavily processed, retaining nutrients and waxes naturally occurring within the plants.
Blood glucose level - Glucose is the human body’s most significant source of carbohydrate energy. The diet accounts for most of the circulating glucose in the fed state, also called as the absorptive state. For instance, the blood of a 70kg person contains four grams of glucose. This glucose is essential for the normal functioning of different types of cells. Given the significance of four grams of glucose, a complex control mechanism is in place to keep blood sugar levels consistent.

High blood sugar - Hyperglycemia, generally known as high blood sugar, can be caused by several factors, such as stress, sickness, overeating, and insufficient insulin. Over time, major health issues might develop because of elevated blood sugar. High blood sugar can cause various symptoms, such as fatigue, thirst, frequent urination, and blurred vision.
Evidence summary of NutriKane D - In this section, we will discuss a trial of NutriKane on blood glucose and weight management as highlighted on MediKane’s website.
A randomised, blinded, placebo-controlled trial of NutriKane was conducted on 50 patients. The trial compared NutriKane to diet and exercise alone. The trial was designed in two phases:
- A period in hospital with strict control – Here, all factors were considered, and diet and exercise were under control
- The hospital period was followed by an "at home" period, which was of three months. In this period, patients were instructed but not controlled.
Below are the outcomes of the study:

Another trial with 100 participants (diet and exercise alone compared to diet, exercise and NutriKane supplementation) found that over an eight-week period, people in the NutriKane group lost nearly two times as much weight as the control group.
In essence, MediKane highlights that its NutriKane D product helps with stabilising blood sugar levels and assisting with weight loss while improving the quality of life.
