Altech Batteries Limited (ASX: ATC) has shared a positive update in relation to the CERENERGY® project. The company informed that the output capacity of the project has increased by 20% to 120MWh Gridpacks annually after the final stages of facility design. Read more.
The development has been achieved with joint venture partner Fraunhofer and lead engineering firm Leadec.
More about the increased project output
The technical design optimisation has resulted in the 20% jump in output without incurring any further capital costs.
Although the size of the plant is relatively small, majority of the equipment sizes are standard off-the-shelf capacities; as a result, providing significant additional capacity.
Moreover, after conducting a review of equipment throughput with every supplier, Leadec has updated that the rated output can be conservatively increased to 120MWh.
Brief about the updated design
The updated design of the 60 kWh battery pack now has a sleek stainless-steel exterior, which is anticipated to withstand extreme weather conditions, ranging from snowy to desert conditions, without affecting the pristine appearance.
The design update includes the staking method of the 1MWh GridPacks, allowing triple staking and providing seamless interconnection betweenbetween each GridPack. The GridPacks can be stacked atop one another by using a simple electrical connection. The connection leads will be available within the frames, allowing an effortless plug-and-play setup.
These advantages position the CERENERGY® GridPacks as a more advanced alternative to lithium-ion battery solutions, says the company.
