Ocean Protocol has announced a new launch date for its Nodes Incentive Program, which is now scheduled for August 29, 2024. This delay allows the protocol team to complete essential backend updates and enhancements, ensuring an optimal experience for participants.
The decision to reschedule follows the identification and resolution of issues within the monitoring system responsible for tracking node performance and incentive eligibility. According to an official blog post, the team discovered a logic flaw in the system that could impact the fairness of the program. The team has since addressed these bugs and corrected the logical fault in the eligibility checks.
In addition to fixing the backend issues, Ocean Protocol has implemented several upgrades to its Nodes Dashboard. These improvements aim to enhance user experience by providing more detailed and actionable data. The protocol noted that until the backend updates are fully integrated, there may still be inaccuracies in the "reward eligibility" column of the dashboard.
Ocean Protocol is also involved in the artificial superintelligence (ASI) alliance, which has impacted its token structure. On July 1, the Ocean Protocol native token (OCEAN) was converted to the Fetch.ai (FET) token as part of preparations for the final phase of the ASI merger. Both OCEAN and SingularityNet (AGIX) tokens were converted into FET, with the final stage of the merger pending. The official ASI website indicates that new contracts will be introduced to finalize the conversion of FET, AGIX, and OCEAN tokens to the ASI token.
This rescheduling of the Nodes Incentive Program reflects Ocean Protocol’s commitment to ensuring the integrity and functionality of its systems while preparing for significant changes in its token framework.
