Short trip to Space

In July 2021, Jeff Bezos and three crew members undertook a short trip to space. The team travelled in New Shephard, which was a spacecraft developed by Blue Origin. This mission was a new chapter in international commercial space tourism. Within 10  mins and 10 seconds, the crew members reached the space and safely landed back on earth. They experienced weightlessness & loved earth view through the spacecraft windows.

Sues NASA over its deal with SpaceX

Jeff Bezos space company Blue Origin sued NASA over its decision to award a US$2.9 billion lunar lander deal to SpaceX. NASA was expected to choose two companies to receive this contract for the first moon landing mission since the Apollo program. However, the deal was given to SpaceX alone.

Andy Jassy elevated to CEO position

In February 2021, Jeff Bezos declared to step down from his position and decided to be an executive chairman of Amazon’s Board.

In July 2021, Andy Jassy was elevated to CEO of Amazon. Jeff Bezos stepped back from the day-to-day business to focus more on strategic business and other ventures like space start-up Blue Origin.

On 20 July 2021, he flew aboard the first human-crewed spaceflight in his own Blue Origin rocket.

Investment in anti-aging technology

The American entrepreneur, who played a significant part in the e-commerce business space, has reportedly invested in anti-aging technology to defeat aging. The anti-aging research aims to add another 50 years of life to the human lifestyle. For this research, he chose Altos Lab, a company that is currently working on reprogramming technology. The adult cells would be turned into young cells through this experiment, which could be transformed into any cell required.

Born in 1964, Jeff Bezos is an American Entrepreneur who grew up in Houston, Texas, and then moved to Miami, Florida. As per Forbes, Bezos’ net worth is US$200.9 billion as of 12 September 2021.
