As Americans gear up for one of the country's biggest sports extravaganzas, Canadian rapper Drake said in an Instagram post that he placed over US$1.26 million bets in Bitcoin (BTC) on Los Angeles Rams that will play against Cincinnati Bengals in Sunday's Super Bowl LVI game.
Drake, whose original name is Aubrey Drake Graham, said he placed three bets: one on Rams as a winning team, including overtime, for US$0.47 million and two more on Rams' wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. or OBJ, of about US$392,000 each, for achieving over 62.5 receiving yards and more than 0.5 anytime touchdowns. He placed the bets on the betting platform Stake.

In an Instagram post, the Canadian rapper cheered for the Rams ahead of the NFL's title match, stating that "All bets are in on the family". He also shared the images of the Bitcoin transactions. Reacting to the post, Odell Beckham Jr. replied, "It's time".
Their Instagram conversations triggered a response from the rival camp's fans. The former American football cornerback, Charles James, wrote: "Yep, you just confirmed it! I'm Cincinnati! Burrow for the win. Call a reasonable number".

Cryptos’ popularity among NFL players
NFL players like Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, and Trevor Lawrence have reportedly expressed interest in receiving a part of their salary in cryptocurrency. Beckham Jr. said that he would collect his NFL salary in Bitcoin. He has signed up Cash App for the transfer.
Beckham also promised to give back around US$1 million in Bitcoin to his fans. His total earnings are reportedly estimated to be more than US$4.20 million this year.
