This announcement, which has sent shockwaves across the system, could potentially be a game-changer for the healthcare system in New Zealand.
It can change the entire chain of hierarchy. Mr. Little further added that the new type of national health system would mean that people would receive a uniform kind of treatment without having to worry about which part of the country they belonged to.
Besides, it is also proposed that a New Maori Health Authority would also be set up, which would be responsible for the direct commissioning of health services to the Maori community.. It was further said that in wake of the lessons learnt after the COVID-19 crisis, there should be a national organisation which could equip itself against the possible outbreaks of epidemics and pandemics in the future. It is simply a way of planning for the future and being ready for whatever challenges can be faced in the healthcare industry. These plans come at the right time with the vaccine roll-out in full swing and the country trying its level best to combat the current pandemic situation.

Another aim of this type of healthcare sector will be to reduce the stress on the NZ healthcare workers, who work ceaselessly to help people. This will be a sort of synchronizing, which will receive the best of all areas of healthcare without putting any undue pressure on any one segment of workers.
