NetApp eyes Cloud services, ONTAP Software updated

The global cloud-led, data-centric software company NetApp, Inc. (NASDAQ:NTAP) announced improvements to its cloud-connected NetApp® ONTAP® data management software. Also, the Company announced a new flexible NetApp Keystone™ Flex Subscription service along with a new NetApp SolidFire® Enterprise SDS solution.

NetApp, Inc provides software, systems, and cloud services that enable them to run the applications from the data centre to the cloud.

By announcing these updates, NetApp would be able to support the businesses to unlock the best features of the cloud.

Below are some of the new features and capabilities introduced by the Company:

  • NetApp ONTAP software:

Cloud Volumes ONTAP is software-defined storage that provides advanced data management for file and block workloads. It helps in optimising cloud storage costs as well as boosts the performance and improves data protection, security, and compliance.

With the Improvement in NetApp ONTAP software capabilities, there would be more consolidation, continuous data accessibility, and deeper cloud ​integration for further ease, efficiency, and safeguarding of business-critical enterprise applications.    

  • NetApp Keystone:

NetApp Keystone provides a smooth hybrid cloud experience plus storage services that span on the premises and in the cloud, with a lesser amount of cash.

The NetApp Keystone Flex Subscription is now updated. It would provide a quick, flexible way to cloud-enabled data centre with ‘pay-as-you-grow’ subscriptions for a cloudlike familiarity on locations, through the NetApp partner ecosystem.  The Keystone Flex Subscription further proposes public cloud integration which would be made available via the NetApp partner ecosystem.    

  • NetApp SolidFire Enterprise SDS solution:

NetApp SolidFire Enterprise SDS offers the advantages of SolidFire scale-out technology and NetApp Element software data services. SolidFire eSDS provides NetApp Element software that allows the user to access all the Element functionality either on a NetApp-branded appliance or on a general-purpose server, which fulfils the NetApp reference configuration.

The new NetApp SolidFire Enterprise SDS solution offers a simple and automated base for a private cloud with NetApp Element® software as separate software-defined storage which can be implemented on any hardware.        

As per NetApp’s President César Cernuda, digital transformation in the present times has reached a level where those projects which used to take a year to complete are now completed within a few weeks.
