Former CEO of Kordia Group, Scott Bartlett who was diagnosed with multiple brain tumour in August 2019 died at the age of 40, battling against cancer on 15 December 2020.

Scott Bartlett was one of the famous names on the New Zealand tech scene. He was known for his big, bold, and courageous ideas, which he made possible via his passion and potential to make things happen.

Last year in 2019, when he was diagnosed with multiple brain tumors, Scott Bartlett decided to step down from his position as CEO and focus on his health. After undergoing a period of remission, he resumed work in January 2020. However, again after two months, he became ill.

During the time he was under treatment, he kept updating on his health using social media platform, Instagram.

Scott Bartlett’s Journey:

In 2012, Scott Bartlett joined Kordia Group as CEO and took the position of Group CEO in 2016. Apart from this, he was serving as non-executive director with ASB Bank and a Council Member at the University of Waikato, NZ.

He also held the designation of advisory board councillor of the Pacific Telecommunications Council and on the Board of Centre of Digital Excellence at the University of Auckland Business School, New Zealand.

When Scott was appointed as the CEO of Kordia Group, Kordia was recognised as a broadcasting & networks organisation. Under his leadership and guidance, the business evolved into the digital era and became the leading provider in business technology. He played an active role in developing cybersecurity capabilities after the business acquired Aura Information security. Under his leadership, the business also started focusing on cloud connectivity and transformation.

Scott Bartlett was amongst the most inspirational leaders in New Zealand, and his demise at a very early age is a shock to the organisation.
