Star WA blaster Josh Inglis appeared to suffer another out-of-the-box injury during his match-winning knock in Wednesday's two-wicket triumph over South Australia.

Henry Hunt (103 off 137 balls) notched his maiden one-day century to lift South Australia to 6-266 in the top-of-the-table clash at the WACA Ground.

WA reached the victory target with nine balls to spare, thanks largely to a blistering 85 off 70 balls from Inglis and some late heroics from tailenders Joel Paris (15no off 11 balls) and AJ Tye (11no off eight balls).

Inglis was a late withdrawal from the recent T20 World Cup squad after cutting open his right hand in a freak golfing accident.

The 27-year-old required a stint in hospital after that mishap.

Inglis was back to his best against the Redbacks on Wednesday, smashing nine fours and a six to put WA on the verge of victory.

But he was dealt a double blow in the 44th over when he was injured and dismissed on the same delivery.

Inglis winced in pain after twisting his right ankle and knee in awkward fashion while playing a pull shot.

A diving Nathan McSweeney took the catch to dismiss Inglis with the dejected batsman having a noticeable limp as he slowly made his way off the ground.

His departure was part of a collapse of 5-34 as WA went from 3-220 to 8-254.

With WA needing 11 more runs for victory, McSweeney dropped Paris at deep mid-wicket in the 47th over.

With five more runs needed, Tye survived a tight LBW appeal when he was struck by a Harry Conway full toss.

Tye thumped spinner Ben Manenti down the ground for six next over to seal the thrilling win.

It capped a memorable day for Tye, who became WA's all-time leading domestic one-day wicket-taker.

Tye's 2-53 lifted his career one-day tally to 104, eclipsing the previous WA record of 103 set by Kade Harvey.

Former Queensland star James Hopes holds the all-time record with 155 scalps, but Tye could finish his career in second spot if he is able to surpass Stuart MacGill (124 wickets), Nathan Hauritz (120) and Xavier Doherty (120).

Wednesday's result continued WA's stunning start to the one-day season.

The defending champions sit on top of the ladder with a perfect 5-0 record, while the Redbacks (3-2) are second.

WA also sit on top of the Sheffield Shield table.
