King River Resources Limited (ASX:KRR), an Australian-based mining and exploration company, continues to make significant progress across its exploration portfolio in the mineral-rich Northern Territory.
Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Treasure Creek Pty Ltd, the company holds 16 exploration licences covering approximately 5,000km².
The company's exploration efforts are primarily focused on the Treasure Creek Holdings, which include key strategic tenement areas, including Tennant East, Barkly, Rover East, and Kurundi. These tenements are situated within highly prospective mineral fields such as Tennant Creek, Rover, Kurinelli, and Hatches Creek.
Tennant Creek has a long history of high-grade, bonanza-style gold and copper discoveries. Recent exploration results from the region have been particularly encouraging.
2025 Drilling Targets High-Grade Gold Zones
In 2025, the company has continued to advance its exploration efforts with a reverse circulation (RC) drilling program completed in April at the Kurundi Main prospect. The program targeted extensions to two high-grade gold zones and followed up on a newly identified structure featuring historical underground workings discovered in late 2024. These activities are part of the company’s broader strategy to define and expand mineralisation across its promising Northern Territory tenements.
Kurundi Project Expansion with EL32116 Acquisition
KRR has acquired tenement EL32116, expanding its Kurundi gold project. The tenement surrounds EL32200 and includes key targets such as extensions of the Kurundi vein, the high-grade Priesters prospect, and areas of historical gold workings. Initial reconnaissance is planned following completion of the transfer process, targeting gold, lithium, and tungsten across this highly prospective ground.
Upcoming Exploration Focus: IOCG Targets
KRR plans to initiate drilling on high-priority IOCG (Iron Oxide Copper Gold) geophysical targets Kuiper 1 and 2. These magnetic and gravity anomalies, identified in the 2023 geophysical survey, lie under shallow cover within prospective Warramunga rock units. Key upcoming activities include:
These efforts are part of KRR’s strategy to uncover new mineralised systems across its highly prospective Northern Territory tenements.
