With over a year of the world struggling with the coronavirus pandemic, things are now starting to look better for a few countries than others. In a recent report, it was announced that the infection rates in the US had witnessed a downturn after the longest time. The rate of infection as well as death rates in the US have dropped down significantly, at their lowest level on weekends.

On the other hand, several Asian counties are still facing the worst of it. This is why lockdowns and stronger restrictions are being imposed in order to deal with the situation at hand.
A two-week lockdown has been announced in Malaysia, while people from certain parts of China have also been restricted to their homes. South Africa is also set to impose stricter rules of lockdown.

India’s Plan of action
India continues to deal with one of the worst COVID-19 situations at the moment. State-wise lockdowns and precautions are put in place but there still seems to be acute shortage of oxygen as well as hospital beds, which is continually trying to be met by donations and help from across the world. The Indian variant is something that may now be spreading now to different geographies, and it is something authorities are warning people against and trying to stop.

UK condition
The UK, which had already released a 12-location green list for without-quarantine travel, is being urged to increase the number with an aim to start making travel economy recovery. The travel industry had undoubtedly suffered the most and there are efforts being made by different countries to reverse that while keeping in line with precautions.
New Zealand update
New Zealand, which has the Trans-Tasman Bubble in place, is in talks with other destinations to open the channel for travel without quarantine. There has been the announcement of a week’s lockdown in Victoria, Melbourne, which means that the Kiwi travellers will have to stay put there for the duration. The government has directed people to follow the guidelines and keep their contingency plans ready, as being one of the repercussions of travelling in such uncertain times.
