Which are the countries curious to know about Ethereum Merge?

Since the Ethereum blockchain announced that it would be launching its Ethereum Merge, search engines are exploded with queries. The hits started getting more prominent with the speculation that the much-awaited Ethereum Merge's blockchain network launch could be any time between April and June this year.

Such has been the craze that, according to the Google trends data, people from all over the world have been continuously pinging in to know more about it over the past fortnight. 

Ethereum Merge is the much-awaited change that the blockchain is expected to witness, that will see it switch from the traditional Proof-of-Work (PoW) to the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus. Earlier this month, the network conducted its Klin test net, which was termed successful, and its validators too had started producing post-merge blocks.

What does the data from Google indicate? 

As per the Google data, the search hits for the word Ethereum Merge between 6-12 March was hovering around 23%. But since then, it exploded, especially post the Klin test, that it reached an all-time high, hitting 100% between the period 20-26 March. 

Canadians led the search race, with the majority of them looking to know more about the protocol. The search reached its peak in the second week of March before dipping back. Singapore emerged as the second leading country in the search race. Its search index had peaked at 83% between 6-12 March before showing some decline. 

Australia, The United States, and the United Kingdom rank third, fourth, and fifth spots, respectively, covering 82%, 74%, and 52% of searches.

Britons were also searching for Ethereum Merge, and it reached its full tilt between 23-26 March on Google. Though this number was still lower compared to the interest, it managed to generate in the third week of December last year. 

The topic that ruled the search chart was about peoples’ interest in knowing the date of Ethereum Merge, along with Vitalik Buterin and Ethereum 2.0. 

Conclusion

Ethereum's market performance this month has also seen significant improvement, with it registering gains of over 30% in the past 14 days. Even today, on 29 March, the token was witnessing decent gains and was up by 2.64%, trading at US$3,434.91 with a 24-hour trading volume of $20,234,597,712 over a day. 

When does the Ethereum Foundation release the date of Ethereum Merge remains to be seen, but the topic has definitely garnered significant search volumes on Google, and it's only going to go up till the official date is announced.
