MonkeyLeague, formerly MonkeyBall, is a next-generation esports metaverse that allows players to create, play, compete, and earn through a soccer game on the Solana blockchain.

In the game, players create a team of virtual monkeys with unique traits.

MonkeyLeague combines high-production-value with non-fungible tokens and decentralized finance to deliver a turn-based, play-to-earn soccer game, according to the crypto firm.

The MonkeyLeague team comprises members having diverse experience in-game developments and enterprise blockchain. It aims to impact the blockchain gaming industry by bringing a fresh yet rewarding experience for non-fungible token (NFT) gamers.

On January 31, the crypto company had changed the name of the play-to-earn game project from MonkeyBall to MonkeyLeague. The trademark for its mini-arcade-style video game series Super Monkey Ball is currently owned by SEGA, a Japanese gaming firm.

The game requires players to create a team of four monkeys in the position of goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and striker on each side. The players have to focus on the abilities of the monkeys for each position to increase their winning chance.

Each match comprises 12 rounds, and every round completes when each team has completed their turns. Based on the monkeys' movements, a team can use five options to beat their opponent: moving, passing, dribbling, shooting the ball, and "Special Moves".

The game can be played in three modes: player versus environment (training mode against the computer), player versus player (classic match), and team versus team.

MBS tokens' total and maximum supply is 1 billion, and its current circulating supply is 50.75 million. It is available on exchanges like FTX, Bybit, BitForex, etc.

The MBS token was priced at US$0.5436 at 7:38 am ET on February 15, up 18.40%. It has a market cap of US$27.46 million, and its fully diluted market cap is US$543.55 million. Its trading volume in the last 24 hours to Wednesday morning was US$1.56 million, up 182.34%.

The MBS token saw the highest price of US$2.60 and the lowest price of US$0.3348 in the last 52 weeks. It reached an all-time high of US$2.60 on December 27, 2021. Its price tumbled 71.7% over the past 12 months.
