The price of Doge Killer (LEASH) soared over 40 per cent on Wednesday, February 9, and reached a high of US$ 1,934.87 per token, according to CoinMarketCap data.

At the time of writing, the LEASH coin was up 4.6 per cent and trading at US$ 1,783.75 apiece. The surge came at the token price after developers behind LEASH coin revealed real estate plans in the metaverse.

Notably, Doge Killer is a cryptocurrency in Shiba Inu's (SHIB) ecosystem. The developers said they would start a new project called Shiba Lands in a blog post.

Under this project, virtual real estate assets inside the Shiba Inu metaverse would be available for purchase in future.

Notably, holders of the LEASH coin will get exclusive access to the virtual properties, and the remaining properties will then be unlocked for the public.

The blog post mentioned the rise of the metaverse and said it is growing at a rapid rate as large and small companies are looking to explore this space.

Shiba Inu Ecosystem's blog post said that in 2020, the metaverse was valued at US$ 478.7 billion and it has the potential to be one of the biggest spaces within the cryptocurrency ecosystem.

What is a LEASH coin?

The LEASH coin or Doge Killer is a token in the Shiba Inu ecosystem, and it was designed to be a rebase token. However, the development changed the strategy and limited its total supply to 107,646 LEASH coins.

LEASH coin was incentivized on ShibaSwap after Shiba Inu, and it claims to offer lucrative rewards to the holders. Besides the LEASH coin, there is one more crypto called Bone ShibaSwap (BONE).

According to CoinMarketCap, the LEASH coin ranks at 2836 in terms of market capitalization. Meanwhile, its one-day volume was up about 28 per cent in the last 24 hours to $44.2 million.

Bottom line

If you are interested in the LEASH coin, you can get it through ShibaSwap. However, this cryptocurrency can also be found on UniSwap and cryptocurrency exchanges like Gate.io.
