Terraform Lab’s Luna crypto coin is currently one of the 10 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation (m-cap). Despite the cryptocurrency market witnessing a sell-off recently, which saw prices of major coins such as Bitcoin falling, Terra moved past popular dog-based meme token, Dogecoin, in m-cap to become the 10th most valuable cryptocurrency.
According to the data provided by CoinMarketCap, Terra currently has an m-cap of just over US$28 billion. In case of a further surge in prices, the cryptocurrency can easily pip Polkadot, which has an m-cap of just over US$29 billion.

Terra’s 15,000% rise in one year
The digital coin surged over 15,000% in the last one year and has been one of the best performing cryptocurrencies in 2021. Terra touched an all-time high of US$75.56 from less than half a dollar a year ago, according to the data provided by CoinMarketCap. On top of that, the coin has recorded a year-to-date (YTD) rise of nearly 12,000%.

At the time of writing, Terra was trading in the range of US$72-73. There are 382,692,629.13 Luna tokens in supply so far. The total supply of coins stands at 855,799,933.
How other major cryptocurrencies performed in last 24 hours
Following a strong rebound on Wednesday, cryptocurrencies saw profit booking as investors flocked to stocks amid ease in COVID-19 infections. Most currencies traded lower, with Cardano, XRP and Solana tanking 5-6% each.
The global crypto m-cap inched marginally lower, nearly a per cent, to the US$2.35-trillion mark compared to the last day. However, the total crypto market volume plummeted by more than 21% to US$108.89 billion.
Meanwhile, altcoins were also seen to make a decent rebound, and the outperformer was MATIC, which was up nearly 14%.
