Franchise refers to a method of distributing products or services wherein two parties agree to market specific goods or services. These two parties include a franchisee and a franchisor.

The franchisor is the party who had established the business, owns and controls the trademarks used by the business. And, the franchisee is a person who is using the trademarks of the franchisor to deliver products or services.
