  • Strategic alliance formed with Astrotricha Capital
  • Major drill campaign at Rae project expected soon

White Cliff Minerals (ASX:WCN), a dynamic mineral exploration company, is set to welcome John Hancock to its board as a Non-Executive Director, effective 1 August 2025. Hancock, widely recognised as the son of mining magnate Gina Rinehart, brings over two decades of extensive experience in the resources sector, financial markets, and corporate strategy.

His diverse background includes a formative period in South Africa with Iscor Mining—now Kumba Resources (JSE:KIO)—where he gained hands-on industry exposure. Transitioning into a successful career as an investor, Hancock has made notable early-stage investments in the lithium and uranium space. His investment portfolio includes significant positions in Vulcan Energy (ASX:VUL) and Aura Energy (ASX:AEE), positioning him as a key figure in Australia's clean energy transition.

In a parallel strategic development, White Cliff Minerals has entered into an advisory mandate with Hancock’s family office, Astrotricha Capital, with Gavin Rezos appointed as CEO. Rezos brings a wealth of expertise and is expected to contribute significantly to the company’s growth ambitions. Managing Director Troy Whittaker acknowledged the value this partnership adds, especially as the company gears up for a large-scale drilling campaign at its Rae project, following highly encouraging intercepts at the Danvers deposit.

“Our exploration team is well-funded and prepared to begin the next phase of drilling at Rae, which builds on the success seen previously at Danvers,” Whittaker stated.

As part of this board reshuffle, Daniel Smith will be stepping down from his role as director to focus on other professional avenues.

White Cliff Minerals remains focused on high-potential copper exploration in tier-one jurisdictions. While the company is not part of the ASX200 stocks currently, its recent strategic moves and board expansion may enhance its profile among growth-focused market participants.

With a market capitalisation of $48.26 million, White Cliff’s strengthening leadership and upcoming exploration plans may contribute to growing interest in the junior exploration sector. The addition of experienced voices like Hancock and Rezos is expected to complement ongoing operational efforts and long-term development strategies.
