Highlights:

  • A comprehensive six-week field program is underway focusing on detailed mapping and soil sampling.
  • The company plans a 2000-meter electromagnetic survey to refine drilling targets by mid-year.
  • Belararox's project spans over 4,000 square kilometers and is strategically located near major copper and silver orebodies.

Belararox (ASX:BRX) has begun an extensive exploration campaign in the Kalahari Copper Belt, Botswana, a region recognized for its significant copper and silver deposits. The company’s initiative focuses on enhancing its position in one of the world’s most active exploration areas, with expectations of developing key projects in both copper and silver-rich zones.

Field Program and Geophysical Surveys

Currently, the company is executing a six-week field program designed to gather detailed geological data through mapping and soil sampling. The fieldwork is a crucial element in understanding the subsurface structure, guiding future exploration efforts. In addition, an electromagnetic survey, planned to extend over two thousand meters, is aimed at identifying areas for future drilling by the middle of the year.

Strategic Location Near Established Mines

Belararox’s exploration efforts are concentrated in a strategic location, surrounded by world-class copper and silver orebodies. The Kalahari Copper Belt, which is home to prominent mining operations like Sandfire’s Motheo and MMG’s Khoemacau, offers Belararox access to some of the most productive and well-established mining areas in the world. These existing operations further strengthen the appeal of the area for future discoveries.

Exploration Focus on Key Geological Zones

The exploration program concentrates on understanding the geological and geophysical features within the D’Kar/Ngwako Pan contact zones. These areas are believed to offer considerable mineralization potential, as they represent a boundary between two significant geological formations. Ongoing surveys across several priority tenements aim to refine drill targets, which will be further developed in the upcoming drilling campaign scheduled for later in the year.

Planned Drilling Campaign

Looking ahead, Belararox has outlined a strategic exploration path focusing on target generation, definition, and drilling. The company’s method involves utilizing regional geophysical surveys to create a foundation for drilling. The upcoming drilling campaign will focus on testing several priority targets, which will be determined after the detailed survey and sampling phases. This systematic approach is designed to increase exploration efficiency and speed up the timeline to new discoveries.
