The company announced the receipt of a substantial A$2.34 million tax refund after lodging a return for the 2024 financial year.
This refund is linked to eligible R&D expenditure totaling A$5.4 million, underscoring Andromeda's commitment to innovation and technological advancement within its projects. According to acting CEO Sarah Clarke, this refund is a critical part of the company’s ongoing funding process and a crucial support for Andromeda’s objectives to deliver value to its shareholders.
The A$2.34 million cash rebate is a reflection of Andromeda’s significant investment into research and development, particularly focused on its Great White Project, which is based in South Australia. This initiative aims to scale up product and process development under Stage 1A+ of the project. Notably, the Australian Government's AusIndustry has awarded Andromeda an Advance and Overseas Finding Certificate, validating the company’s eligibility to claim refundable tax offsets for eligible expenditures related to innovation over a three-year period.
The certificate allows Andromeda to claim a refund rate of 43.5% for costs incurred on qualifying activities. With eligible expenditures expected to exceed A$26 million under Stage 1A+, this refund is an important milestone for Andromeda as it continues to progress with one of the largest development phases of its Great White Project.
