Andromeda Metals Ltd (ASX:ADN) has significantly bolstered its financial position, following a positive outcome from the Australian Government’s Research and Development (R&D) Tax Incentive program. The company announced the receipt of a substantial A$2.34 million tax refund after lodging a return for the 2024 financial year.

This refund is linked to eligible R&D expenditure totaling A$5.4 million, underscoring Andromeda's commitment to innovation and technological advancement within its projects. According to acting CEO Sarah Clarke, this refund is a critical part of the company’s ongoing funding process and a crucial support for Andromeda’s objectives to deliver value to its shareholders.

The A$2.34 million cash rebate is a reflection of Andromeda’s significant investment into research and development, particularly focused on its Great White Project, which is based in South Australia. This initiative aims to scale up product and process development under Stage 1A+ of the project. Notably, the Australian Government's AusIndustry has awarded Andromeda an Advance and Overseas Finding Certificate, validating the company’s eligibility to claim refundable tax offsets for eligible expenditures related to innovation over a three-year period.

The certificate allows Andromeda to claim a refund rate of 43.5% for costs incurred on qualifying activities. With eligible expenditures expected to exceed A$26 million under Stage 1A+, this refund is an important milestone for Andromeda as it continues to progress with one of the largest development phases of its Great White Project.

In terms of innovation and growth, Andromeda is leveraging these funds to accelerate development in line with its long-term strategy, further solidifying its position in the market. The financial boost from the R&D tax incentive program will enable the company to advance its objectives, fuel further project advancement, and facilitate future investments in cutting-edge technologies within the resources sector.

The partnership with the Australian Government’s R&D Tax Incentive Program highlights the country’s ongoing commitment to encouraging industrial research and innovation, while further positioning companies like Andromeda at the forefront of resource industry developments.

This tax refund underscores Andromeda’s capability to secure financial support while continuing to drive innovation forward, with positive implications for the company's stakeholders and its future business growth.
