Highlights

  • The latest results relate to the reconnaissance drilling activity done at Karibib’s Copper/Gold Gamikaub prospect
  • The Phase 1 drilling had 10 RC holes for a total of more than 550 metre to test and intersect mineralisation zones
  • Two holes returned significant mineralisation in sulphide zones:
    KRC03 4m @ 1.35% Cu & 0.68 g/t Au, from 24 m and,
    KRC08 4m @ 1.98% Cu & 0.92g/t Au & 0.72% W, from 9 m
  • Drilling only covered a 3km x 1km section of the 20km x 2km metasedimentary structure defined
  • CEO Philip le Roux has commented that focus now would be on "additional mapping and geophysical analysis" for additional drilling

Arcadia Minerals (ASX: AM7/FRA:8OH) -- which has its focus on Namibia for exploration of metals like Tantalum, lithium, Nickel, Copper and Gold -- has announced the results of reconnaissance drill program conducted at its Karibib Cu-Au Project. Notably, results show that the drilling has been able to intersect copper and gold mineralisation in sulphide zones. This drilling was only for a 3km x 1km part (total 20km x 2km metasedimentary structure defined), and the results would now guide further drilling, AM7 said.

Arcadia is listed on the ASX under ticker AM7, and its shares last closed at AU$0.20 on 28 April 2023.

The development

The assay results of the reconnaissance drilling program, with 10 RC holes for over 550 metres (average drill spacing 250 metres) at Gamikaub (EPL4663) are out. The drilling was only at a 3km x 1km part of a known mineralised zone, which spans over a metasedimentary structure of 20km x 2km. Arcadia had identified the zones by undertaking detailed geological mapping, including drone survey and sampling.

There are high strain zones with epithermal gold (Au) and polymetallic mineralisation, and six holes have intersected second order quartz veins.

The results show domination by a high tonnage of alternating calcium-silicate-marbles, with primary existence of oxidised and disseminated copper (Cu) with minor calcite-quartz veins.

The significant mineralisation of two holes is below.

  • KRC03 – 24-28 m, width of 4m @ 1.35% Copper & 0.68 g/t Gold, including 2m from 26 to 28 m @ 1.73% Copper & 1.2 g/t Gold
  • KRC08 – 9-13 m, width of 4m @ 1.98% Copper & 0.92g/t Gold & 0.72% W

Additional drilling to target wider areas of mineralisation

Philip le Roux, CEO of Arcadia Minerals, said he is "satisfied" that the drilling campaign delivered "significant” mineralisation, which provides "meaningful information" for exploration works at the prospect and elsewhere in the metasedimentary structure. There is probability of "wider areas of mineralisation" on the 20km metasedimentary structure, he further said.

What’s next?

The company has confirmed that follow-up drilling at the area is planned. AM7 would also explore the larger 20km zone by using geophysical methods to identify more targets for Phase 2 of drilling.

Arcadia is listed on the ASX under ticker AM7 and in Frankfurt under ticker 8OH, and its shares last closed at AU$0.20 (ASX) on 1 May 2023.
