Australian mineral exploration company Ark Mines Ltd (ASX: AHK) confirmed that air core drilling has begun at ‘Sandy Mitchell’, the company’s fully owned, advanced, North Queensland-based rare earths and heavy minerals project contained in sands that hosts a light and heavy rare earths and heavy minerals.
The phase 1 drilling program has begun on schedule. It will include infill and extension drilling of historic auger drill holes in a 120m-by-120m grid, spanning an area of 2.0km2, along with 30 reconnaissance holes testing the broader anomaly. Though, it may be varied depending on geological feedback. It will be carried out by specialist Queensland-based contractor Saxon Drilling.
AHK shares were trading at AU$0.315 at the time of writing on 22 May 2023, up more than 1.6% from the last close.
