A pharmaceutical company has sought USA Food and Drug Administration's permission to sell a birth control pill over the counter in the US for the first time. Perrigo Company, a unit of France's HRA Pharma has asked the US FDA to approve a daily birth control pill for over-the-counter sale, called O-pill. It is a progestin-only daily birth control pill which is also referred to as a mini pill or non-estrogen pill.
