FireFly Metals reports high-grade copper-gold drill results at Green Bay Project in Canada
Strong assays to support upcoming mineral resource estimate update later in 2025
Eight drill rigs now active as part of exploration and resource expansion strategy
FireFly Metals Ltd (ASX:FFM), listed on the ASX 300, has reported a new batch of high-grade assay results from its Green Bay Copper-Gold Project in Newfoundland, Canada. The results come from an ongoing drilling campaign aimed at infill and extension activities across key mineralised zones.
These recent outcomes highlight the continued strength of the volcanogenic massive sulphide and footwall stringer zones at the project, which remains the company's flagship asset in a well-regarded mining jurisdiction.
Key Mineralised Zones Yield High-Grade Results
The drill program at Green Bay has identified numerous high-grade copper-gold intersections from multiple holes. The program is focused on increasing the confidence and scale of the resource, with the new data expected to underpin an updated mineral resource estimate later this year.
Key intercepts from the VMS lenses and footwall zones have demonstrated consistent mineralisation across significant widths. The continuity of these zones is considered important in shaping the geological model and planning future mining studies.
The Ming underground mine area continues to be a focal point, with several new intersections also associated with a downhole electromagnetic (DHEM) anomaly. This geophysical signature is aiding drill targeting and interpretation of mineralised extensions.
Infill Program Supports Resource Classification Upgrade
FireFly Metals is aiming to upgrade its current Inferred Resources into the Measured and Indicated (M&I) categories. The upgraded resource base will serve as a foundation for more advanced technical studies, including mine design and economic assessments.
The company has indicated that the upcoming MRE will integrate these latest drilling results, which highlight thick and high-grade mineralisation both within the VMS lenses and adjacent footwall zones. Enhanced resource classification will be central to progressing development pathways.
Expanded Drill Program Targets New Extensions and Depths
To accelerate progress, FireFly has mobilised a total of eight drill rigs, including six underground rigs and two on surface. These rigs are currently operating across infill areas as well as new target zones that extend beyond the existing footprint of the known deposit.
In particular, two rigs have been allocated to the northern extension of the project area to explore deeper down-plunge projections of the Ming Deposit. These exploratory efforts aim to expand the known resource base and improve understanding of the structural controls influencing mineralisation.
The program also includes follow-up on regional geophysical targets and historical workings, such as those around the Rambler Main mine, with further results anticipated.
Strong Financial Position Supports Growth Strategy
FireFly’s robust funding base is supporting its expanded exploration initiatives. With recent capital raised, the company reports a strengthened balance sheet that is expected to sustain ongoing drilling and feasibility work throughout the year.
As drilling continues, the combination of high-grade results, geological continuity, and financial strength positions FireFly Metals to advance its Canadian copper-gold project toward its next development milestone.
