Highlights

  • CAMP4 has signed a strategic research, collaboration, and license agreement with GSK covering multiple gene targets.
  • The agreement includes a USD17.5 million upfront cash payment, with additional milestone payments and tiered royalties possible.
  • CAMP4 will apply its RAP Platform® to generate antisense oligonucleotide candidates, while GSK will lead development and commercialization.

CAMP4 Therapeutics Corporation (Nasdaq:CAMP), a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on regulatory RNA-targeting therapeutics, has entered into a strategic research, collaboration, and license agreement with GSK. The partnership is aimed at identifying and developing antisense oligonucleotide drug candidates targeting genes associated with neurodegenerative and kidney diseases.

Details of the Strategic Agreement

Under the terms of the agreement, CAMP4 will receive an upfront cash payment of USD 17.5 million. In addition to this initial consideration, the Company is eligible to receive further payments tied to the achievement of specified development and commercial milestones. The agreement also provides for tiered royalties on future product sales, should any therapies developed under the collaboration reach the market.

The collaboration covers multiple gene targets relevant to neurodegenerative and kidney disease indications. These areas represent a focus for therapeutic approaches that aim to address underlying genetic mechanisms associated with disease progression.

Role of CAMP4’s RAP Platform®

CAMP4 will contribute its proprietary RAP Platform® to the collaboration. The platform is designed to identify regulatory RNAs, or regRNAs, that control the expression of specific genes. Using this technology, CAMP4 will generate antisense oligonucleotide candidates that target regRNAs with the goal of amplifying target gene expression.

The approach centers on increasing the production of healthy proteins by influencing transcriptional regulation.

GSK’s Development and Commercialization Responsibilities

GSK will assume responsibility for the further development and commercialization of ASO drug candidates identified through the collaboration. This includes advancing selected candidates through preclinical and clinical development, as well as managing regulatory activities and potential global commercialization efforts.

The agreement combines CAMP4’s RNA-targeting discovery capabilities with GSK’s experience in drug development and commercialization across multiple therapeutic areas.

Focus on Genetic Disease Treatment

CAMP4 is developing treatments for genetic diseases where increasing the expression of functional proteins may provide therapeutic benefit. Its drug candidates are designed to target regRNAs, which act locally on transcription factors and influence gene expression.

The Company’s RAP Platform® enables the mapping of regRNAs and the generation of therapeutic candidates for genes associated with haploinsufficient and recessive partial loss-of-function disorders. There are more than 1,200 such disorders identified, where modest increases in protein expression may be clinically relevant.

Broader Implications of the Collaboration

Through this agreement, CAMP4 and GSK aim to advance a pipeline of regulatory RNA-targeting therapies across multiple disease indications. The collaboration is structured to support the identification of new drug candidates while allocating development and commercialization responsibilities between the two companies.

The partnership represents a step in CAMP4’s strategy to advance its platform through collaborations, while providing GSK with access to RNA-targeting technologies for selected genetic disease targets.
