Ryanair chief optimistic of bounce back in air passenger numbers in 2021

Budget airlines Ryanair Holdings Plc (LON: RYA) has expressed its hopes that air passenger numbers would go back to regular ranges by next summer.

  • CEO Michael O’Leary expressed his optimism that passenger volumes should reach 75-80 per cent of pre-Covid levels in 2021.
  • O’Leary also expressed optimism of a Covid vaccine roll-out before the peak summer season in 2021.
  • The airline has reduced its capacity for winter months but not as drastically as its larger counterparts. It has been actively negotiating for new airport slots across Europe after the pandemic.
