How did Chloe Morello make her way to social media stardom?

The world of influencer marketing has reached its peak in recent years, but it has been the most generous to those with years of blogging experience.

Beauty, skincare, and makeup world are currently the most popular within the women’s population, giving a promising opportunity to influencers who are creative enough and have what it takes.

Australian-born Chloe Morello is one of the lucky ones that collected millions of young followers via YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. A potent cocktail of right social media coverage got Ms Morello high up in the business world of influencer marketing and collaborations.

Who is Ms Morello?

Ms Morello grew up in Batemans Bay, a small town in New South Wales.

She has always loved makeup and fashion, which is why Ms Morello persuaded professional education as a makeup artist. Whilst she was attending college, Ms Morello worked as a freelance artist to pay for her education. However, she soon dropped the course and switched to a diploma makeup course, only to quit the class again. According to Ms Morello, she did not learn anything new apart from FX make up (special effects), hence it did not make sense to continue with the studies.

After dropping out of the college, Ms Morello started working at her family’s motel, and that is when she began writing for her blog.

How did Ms Morello make it big on the Internet?

Ms Morello was bored and lonely in a small town like Batemans Bay after most of her friends moved out to bigger Australian cities, but blogging kept her occupied. Soon afterwards, she decided to move to Canberra, where she stopped blogging and filming until she found a job.

Ms Morello’s first job was in a crematorium, where she worked as a salesperson. In 2012, she had her first brush with fame when her YouTube channel featuring recreationally produced makeup content, blew away the viewers.

However, her real success started when Ms Morello received an email from a Sydney hair salon, offering her an ambassador position. She accepted that, moved to Sydney, and became a superstar that she still is now.

Why is Ms Morello special?

As Ms Morello loves to point out, she does not mind making jokes about herself, which seems to be well received by her fans. She often makes fun of herself whenever doing something out of the ordinary and thinks that is why she is so lovable on social media.

Another reason why she is now rich and famous, Ms Morello has stayed true to her character and as grounded as possible.

How long does it take Ms Morello to film a YouTube video?

Creating breath-taking and sleek makeup looks can be time-consuming and dull, as it takes at least four hours for Ms Morello to film the look. Then comes editing and montaging, which take additional four hours.

Given the time a social media superstar takes, Ms Morello undoubtedly falls in the category of being a full-time content creator, with regular working hours.

How much is Ms Morello worth?

Ms Morello has never disclosed how much she earns, but some analysts have forecast an estimated worth of A$500,000.

Most of her income comes from her YouTube channel where Ms Morello often stars with her husband, Sebastian Mecha.

Some of the most famous makeup collaborations Ms Morello has had was with brands like Benefit, Bobbi Brown, Givenchy, Dior, and other high-end makeup products.
