MÍRAME Fine Art made history as the first Costa Rican gallery at Future Fair, debuting in Chelsea during Frieze Week for the fair's fifth anniversary. SAN JOSé, SAN JOSé, COSTA RICA, May 12, 2025 /EINPresswire.com/ -- In a significant moment for Central American contemporary art, MÍRAME Fine Art became the first gallery from Costa Rica to participate in Future Fair, marking its international debut at the fair’s fifth anniversary edition in Chelsea during Frieze Week.

Founded to support and promote artists living and working in Costa Rica, MÍRAME presented new work by two of San José’s distinctive figures: Fabian Monge and Carolina Guillermet.

Monge’s paintings explore how perception shapes experience, fusing structured compositions with more instinctive gestures, while Guillermet’s canvases and tapestries reflect on how color and form build emotional relationships to space, particularly within Latin American cityscapes.

The presentation has drawn attention from collectors, curators, advisors, and critics, giving a rare glimpse of the formal ambition and conceptual clarity emerging from Central America’s growing contemporary art scene. MÍRAME has secured placement of work in private collections in the United States.

Participating in Future Fair during one of the most competitive weeks in the New York art calendar was a deliberate choice for MÍRAME. “We wanted to test what it means to position Costa Rican art in the context of a major international city during Frieze Week, when the world’s leading galleries and institutions are all in town,” said Belinda Seppings, MÍRAME’s co-founder. “The response has confirmed what we’ve long believed, that there is an audience eager for deeper engagement with artists from our region.”

This edition of Future Fair brought together a curated group of galleries focused on new perspectives and emerging voices. For MÍRAME, it was an opportunity to present new work as well as a chance to contribute meaningfully to global conversations in contemporary art. Participation at Future Fair has proven that the energy and complexity of Costa Rica’s contemporary art scene resonates and inspires in a global context.

MÍRAME Fine Art presented at Booth U11, Future Fair NYC, May 7–10.
