Vestas has joined hands with Global Power Generation to sign a 328 MW deal for two wind projects in Victoria, Australia.

Vestas is the worldwide partner for energy industry on sustainable energy solutions with installation of more than 122 GW of wind turbines in 82 countries.
On the other hand, Global Power Generation (GPG) is the Naturgy Energy Group's subsidiary which mainly deals with the projects related to international power generation and is partially owned by the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA) which manages a total installed capacity of 4,100 MW worldwide.

The project involves the installation and supply of 52 wind turbines of V136-4.2 MW for the Ryan Corner Wind Farm. The deal also entails the procurement, construction and engineering of 26 V136-4.2 MW wind turbines for Berrybank Wind Farm. Commencement of the second stage is anticipated in the latter project.

The two ventures will mark a significant move towards building more astute, livable and pollution-free urban communities. Likewise, the second phase of Berrybank Wind Farm is one of the fruitful ventures under the Australian Capital Territory's 2019-20 renewable energy auction and will be Vestas' fifth job in Australia to be started through a renewable energy auction scheme offered by the government.

After completion of the supply, procurement and installation, Vestas will also start a 15-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement for both projects. This agreement will guarantee a long-term certainty, maximising the energy production and Global Power Generation.

Both the projects are going to feed the energy demands in a cleaner manner to approximately 120,000 homes. The commencement will also aim to add almost 500 job opportunities.
Delivery of the turbines for the two signed contracts are anticipated to take place in the third quarter of 2021, with commissioning planned for the third quarter of 2022.
