The department highlighted that the tail lamps on both sides or one side might not work as intended due to a software error. In case the tail lamps do not work in dark conditions, then the vehicles behind will face the issue of reduced visibility and might not be able to identify the vehicle. It was mentioned in the press release that software errors do not impact the turn signal, reverse, and brake lamps.
As per the release, if the vehicle is running software version 2011.40.1 or 2022,40.100 or later, then the electric vehicle is not subject to this issue.
