Aecon Group Inc. (TSX:ARE) has announced the completion of the acquisition of K.P.C. Power Electrical Ltd. and K.P.C. Energy Metering Solutions Ltd., collectively known as KPC, through its subsidiary       Aecon Utilities Group Inc. The transaction brings KPC’s expertise and operations under the Aecon Utilities umbrella, further expanding the company’s utility infrastructure capabilities in Canada.

Integration of KPC Expands Utilities Capabilities

KPC, based in Ontario, specializes in high-voltage testing, commissioning, and energy metering solutions. With its Power Electrical and Energy Metering Solutions operations, KPC provides comprehensive contracting services for utility projects, delivering technical solutions across electrical transmission, distribution, and metering. The acquisition adds experienced teams and operational capacity to Aecon Utilities, broadening its service offerings and presence across multiple utility sectors.

The integration positions Aecon Utilities to engage in projects related to grid modernization, electrification, and infrastructure upgrades. KPC’s capabilities complement Aecon Utilities’ existing portfolio, which includes electrical transmission and distribution, renewables, in-home services, telecommunications, and pipeline distribution. A significant portion of Aecon Utilities’ revenues originates from recurring programs for public and private utility clients, which will now benefit from KPC’s specialized technical expertise.
