Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will name Michael Sabia, the former CEO of Quebec pension fund, as the next deputy FM, multiple media reports indicated.
Mr Sabia has been a key Trudeau aide on economic matters since the pandemic began.
Mr Sabia stepped down as the chief of Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec earlier this year and assumed the chairman’s role of Canada Infrastructure Bank in April. He was also the CEO of BCE, largest telecommunications company in Canada, from 2002 to 2008.
