The Illinois-based American fast-casual restaurant chain Portillo's Inc. has filed documents to become a publicly-traded company.

*Portillo's has become the fourth restaurant chain to eye a public debut this year as earlier this year, Krispy Kreme, Dutch Bros and First Watch chose to offer their common shares to the public.

*In the documents filed for the initial public offering (IPO), Portillo's has expressed interest to list its common shares on the Nasdaq Global Select Market and it will likely trade under the stock symbol 'PTLO'.

*People are gaining confidence to step out and businesses are expected to fully restore their operations by the end of this year.

* Started in a trailer without running water, the restaurant was first known as The Dog House. After a few years in the business, the owner, Dick Portillo named the business after his surname and re-established his business as Portillo's.
