Highlights
- Secures record-breaking $61.6M drone detection order
- Rapid growth in global military demand
- Mass production scaled for high-volume fulfillment
DroneShield (ASX:DRO) has achieved a major milestone by securing a record-breaking drone detection and counter-drone system order worth $61.6 million from a private European reseller. This deal, intended for a European military customer, marks the largest single contract in the company’s history—surpassing its total revenue of $57.5 million in 2024.
The order encompasses three separate purchases of handheld counter-drone systems and is set for full delivery within the current quarter. Payments are scheduled before year-end, thanks to the company’s recently enhanced production and inventory capacities.
Building Momentum Through Repeat Orders
The European reseller has progressively scaled up its purchasing activity with DroneShield over the last two years. From initial small-unit evaluations, it moved to more substantial acquisitions, including a $500,000 order placed as recently as April for the same military end-user. This growing confidence highlights the transition from product testing to full-scale deployment by defense clients.
DroneShield’s CEO, Oleg Vornik, emphasized the trend of increasingly frequent and large-scale orders as global militaries accelerate the adoption of advanced drone defense technologies.
Expanding Global Footprint Beyond Europe
The European contract follows closely on the heels of a $32.2 million agreement secured in April from an Asia-Pacific customer for vehicle-mounted and fixed counter-drone systems. Multiple governments in the Asia-Pacific region are bolstering their national security strategies amid growing surveillance concerns, particularly from Chinese drones targeting sensitive areas.
DroneShield also previously announced seven separate contracts totalling $12.3 million in January from the same regional channel partner, indicating steady and increasing international interest in its technology.
Production Ramp-Up to Meet Surging Demand
To support such large-scale contracts, DroneShield has expanded its Sydney-based facilities and ramped up outsourced manufacturing. The company’s current mass production infrastructure is capable of handling up to $500 million in annual output, allowing for near-instant fulfillment of sizable contracts.
This readiness not only accelerates revenue recognition and cash flow but also positions DroneShield strongly for repeat and larger orders—a crucial factor in the competitive defense tech landscape.
With such robust demand and operational readiness, DroneShield (DRO) continues to gain prominence among ASX200 stocks in the defense technology space, underscoring the growing strategic importance of counter-drone solutions in global security frameworks.
